Ayr Rockets Winter Blast
The U9 Ayr Rockets had an incredible run at the Ayr Winter Blast 2025 Tournament, going undefeated through six games to claim the championship.
The tournament started strong with a 5-0 win over Kitchener, followed by a dominant 7-1 victory against Walkerton. In their third game, the Rockets shut out Saugeen Shores 4-0, showing their defensive strength. The quarterfinals brought a rematch with Kitchener, where Ayr powered through with an 8-3 win. In the semifinals, the Rockets battled hard against Central York, securing a 3-2 victory to punch their ticket to the finals.
All the girls played their hearts out, with a notable shoutout to the game MVPs: Charlotte, Jemma, Abby, Penelope, Eleanor, Charlie, Mackenzie, Brittany, Madison, Sawyer, and Frankie, who stepped up in key moments throughout the weekend.
The girls showed determination, teamwork, and skill in every match, culminating in a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the final against Stratford. Every player contributed with relentless effort, and Charlotte came up big in net, making key saves to secure the win. Goals throughout the weekend were scored by Mya, Penelope, Eleanor, Vivian, Frankie, and Brittany, while the defense showed outstanding positioning and improvement with each game. An extra shoutout to Mya who was the Rockets points leader this tournament!
U9 Rockets also participated in the Winter Blast Skills Competition, showcasing their individual talents. Eleanor raced to victory, placing first in the Fastest Skater event, Mya impressed everyone by winning Stick Handling, and Vivian was outstanding in the Shooting challenge.
Coaches and parents are incredibly proud of the girls' teamwork, dedication, and skill. Blast off, Rockets!
